Leeds United’s hopes of kicking West Ham while they’re down won’t be helped next month if Graham Potter loses his job, as many expect.
At the bottom end of the table, the pressure is always on the managers to turn things around and get the side away from trouble.
That is much more a pertinent worry for the established Premier League sides this season, as the three promoted clubs continue to impress and get results. That worry is becoming worryingly real for West Ham and Graham Potter.

Jamie Carragher predicts Graham Potter to be sacked from West Ham before Leeds United clash
As Daniel Farke aims to consolidate in the Premier League, a man who was also on Leeds’ shortlist in 2023 is in real hot water.
Potter took over at West Ham in January, but hasn’t been able to bring results to the London Stadium, and faces serious questions over his future this weekend. Defeat to Crystal Palace last time out left the Hammers 19th with one win and four losses so far.

Up next for the Irons are two tough fixtures away at Everton and away at Arsenal, which Jamie Carragher believes could be the end of the road for Potter.
“He could lose his job, and I think the next two games are away at Everton and then Arsenal. So, it’s tough,” Carragher said on The Overlap’s Stick to Football.
“Two tough games if you’re the manager. Then the international break. I’d be very surprised if Graham Potter’s the manager after the next two games. In fact, I’d just change him.”
Both Ian Wright and Gary Neville were in agreement that matters look bleak for Potter in the Irons dugout.
“It just doesn’t feel like anything’s gonna get better. Every week I’m looking at West Ham thinking, ‘hopefully he [Potter] can do it for his sake to get a little bit of momentum’,” Wright responded.
“And if the owners are under pressure also, it’s usually the thing that they do to relieve the pressure is [sack] the manager. That’s the oldest trick in the book,” Neville finished.
After that October international break, West Ham then play Brentford at home before travelling to Elland Road on the 24th.
West Ham expected to ditch Graham Potter ahead of Leeds United clash next month
It should come as no shock if West Ham decide to get rid of Potter in the coming weeks. They have been turgid so far.
Potter, in my opinion, is someone I don’t want to give up on in terms of Premier League credentials. That said, it’s simply not working for him.
He’s taken West Ham so far backwards to the point where their fans are worrying about relegation. That’s shocking when you look at the players in their squad.
