For years, Minecraft players have dug copper only to have it sit idle in chests. Now that’s finally going to change. Mojang has confirmed that its next update, Minecraft 1.21.9: The Copper Age, will give new life to the long-overlooked ore. Coming on September 30, 2025, the update brings with it an entire family of copper-related items, blocks, and even a much-desired mob.
Explorers and adventurers will not be forgotten either. The update introduces copper tools, weapons, and armour sets, providing combat players with new gear to experiment with. Builders are not forgotten either, as new additions such as copper chests, shelves, and decorative statues guarantee copper gets its place in base designs once and for all.

In addition to the glistening new additions, Mojang is also bringing polish to the game. The Copper Age update features bug fixes to address long-running frustrations players have raised over the years, smoothing out the experience in exploration, combat, and building.
