“Cristiano Ronaldo vs Wayne Rooney would bring more eyes to boxing, and I’m all for it,” Scott told CanadaCasino.

He added, “Any time boxing gets more attention, it’s a good thing. I want people to enjoy the spectacle, not just critique it. Just enjoy the carnival. It would be a global event because these are high-level names that would draw huge numbers.”

At 40, Ronaldo is still active on the pitch with Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia, while 39-year-old Rooney has retired from football and turned to management and punditry. Both are known boxing enthusiasts, adding weight to Scott’s fantasy matchup.

The pair’s relationship has often been under scrutiny. Fans still recall their infamous clash at the 2006 FIFA World Cup, when Ronaldo was accused of influencing Rooney’s red card in England’s quarter-final defeat to Portugal.
