Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: The Nifty has entered this session on the back of a strong show on Wednesday, as both HDFC Bank and ICICI Bank hit new highs, taking the index higher in the process. Reliance Industries also saw a rebound from lower levels.
Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: After finding a path to recovery, the Indian markets slumped on Thursday. The Nifty index is now falling towards the 25,200 mark. The Sensex is also down nearly 100 points.
The shares of Nifty IT and Nifty Bank are some of the biggest losers, as the tech index and the constituent stocks are trading with deep cuts, with the Nifty IT index falling by over 1%.
IEX, owing to market coupling norms, has fallen 10%, hitting the lower circuit. In addition, midcap IT stocks like Coforge and Persistent are trading with a decline of over 5%.
When we look at the larger markets, the Nifty midcap and Nifty small-cap indices are trading with a decline of around 0.25%.
Some gainers in the BSE smallcap realm include Force Motors, Senores, Thyrocare, Mukand shares surged on Thursday.
There are negative developments with regard to Karur Vysya’s bonus issue, and Bajaj Consumer’s share buyback, among other key developments today. 25,250 will now be the first hurdle to cross for the index, while 25,000 remains a firm base.
