Nathan Broad has claimed his third consecutive Francis Bourke Award at Tuesday night’s Jack Dyer Medal.
You won’t find many other players who embody the epitome of the Richmond man better than Broad.
For three years in a row, Broad has been named the recipient of the Francis Bourke Award for his leadership and commitment to the Richmond Football Club.
The award is named after five-time premiership player, Club ‘Immortal’ and ultimate Richmond man, Francis Bourke, and is voted on by the playing group each year.
Each week through the season, the players will vote on a 3-2-1 system, for the player they believe best upholds their values.
Broad was once again voted in by his peers for upholding the trademark and standards of the Club, acting as a role model for the next generation of Tigers coming through.
The 32-year-old was praised for his courage in the air and unwavering spirit, even when things got tough.
Off the field, Broad has done an exceptional job in driving the Richmond standards for the young playing group, helping his teammates grow and demanding the best out of himself each week.
In Round 2 against Port Adelaide, Broad brought up the 150-game milestone, where he celebrated his career achievement with his family and friends. He also captained the Club in this year’s Dreamtime at the ‘G clash.
