“This is my seventh postseason. I think at this point, where we are as a club is the best group we’ve gone in with,” the Yankees manager said earlier today. “Like the way we’re playing, health, different ways to beat to you.”
Boone added that Paul Goldschmidt will play against every left-handed pitcher the Yankees face this postseason. That means Ben Rice, who had a top-10 wRC+ in the American League, will be on the bench. Rice has a .723 OPS against left-handed pitching since the start of June, and Goldschmidt has a .676 OPS in the same span.
