Coonamble’s home-grown rugby referee Ella Goldsmith knocked over another milestone when she officiated the Women’s Rugby World Cup bronze final on 27 September.

Ella blew the starting whistle in front of 82,000 people at London’s Allianz Stadium, where France and New Zealand fought for third place.

She is the first Australian to referee a medal match at the tournament since Amy Perrett in 2014.
