Turk Telekom is entering the new season with big ambitions for the second year in a row, but this time with the hope of actually meeting expectations, since it can be said that last season they failed to do so, especially in the Turkish Super League, where they barely secured the playoffs after a lot of struggles. However, in that postseason they pushed Fenerbahce to the limit, and came close to eliminating the team that had just won the EuroLeague title a few days earlier. The best player for Turk Telekom was Kyle Allman, who actually came over from Besiktas. Strong performances also came from Kristeon Lamar Bankston and Marko Simonovic, while Jaleen Smith underperformed with only five points.

Just like their opponent in this game, Ulm also began their official season over the weekend, hosting Chemnitz and picking up a win. This will be the 11th consecutive EuroCup season for Ulm, and during that period they had some strong results and memorable wins, so they will once again try to reach the next round. Still, that will not be easy for them. As expected, Ulm also went through some roster changes, as it is difficult for them to keep players who have a breakout season.
