The Broncos have broken a 19-year premiership drought and Michael Maguire has a title in his first season at the helm of the Red Hill club.

Reece Walsh was scintillating at the back, while another big-name star stood tall off the bench while a pair of veteran playmakers went down.

1. REECE WALSH — 10

Holy Reece Walsh. What a player. That just has to go down as the greatest grand final performance of the modern age. Set up three tries, scored one of the best you’ll ever see and saved the game on multiple occasions with bone jarring defence. Just magnificent.

2. JOSIAH KARAPANI — 7

On the wrong side of trouble in the first half but rebounded through sheer guts and determination. Finished with 16 runs for 112 metres.

3. KOTONI STAGGS — 6.5

Struggled to make the impact he’s known for but did plenty of work in defence and had a stack of solid carries.

4. GEHAMAT SHIBASAKI — 7.5

Busy first half and put the Broncos back in the match with a powerful charge to score an early second half try. Capped off a tremendous season with two tries and a game high 17 runs for 164 metres.

5. DEINE MARINER — 7.5

Got over for the second fastest grand final try in history and finished with a double. Went looking for work with 19 runs for 160 metres that included eight tackle busts.

6. BEN HUNT — 7

Grand final redemption 10 years in the making. I’ll maintain Mam should have started at five-eighth. But to his credit Hunt looked a lot better after moving to dummy half before switching back into the halves to cover for the injured Adam Reynolds. Unlucky to be knocked out of the game but it won’t wipe away the memories that will last a lifetime.

7. ADAM REYNOLDS — 6.5

Shattering moment when the little skipper was forced from the field with a suspected calf injury. Regardless, will go down as the captain who ended the Broncos’ 19-year premiership drought.

8. COREY JENSEN — 6

Didn’t have the greatest impact but did his job.

9. CORY PAIX — 6

Worked hard in defence to finish with 33 tackles.

10. PAYNE HAAS — 7

Replaced after 27 minutes with four runs for 28 metres but made up for it in his second stint, finishing with 13 runs for 110 metres. No coincidence the Broncos went to another level when Haas returned to the game.

11. BRENDAN PIAKURA — 7

Copped some brutal knocks but showed plenty of courage.

12. JORDAN RIKI — 6

Wasn’t a stand out but didn’t let his team down all the same.

13. PATRICK CARRIGAN — 7.5

Worked himself to a standstill with 16 runs for 127 metres along with 47 tackles. Yes ,he made some mistakes along the way but just never stopped competing.

14. EZRA MAM — 9

What a super performance off the bench this was. The instant Mam was brought into the game it lifted the Broncos. Was the second most dangerous player on the field in attack and defence behind his little mate wearing the No 1 jumper.

15. KOBE HETHERINGTON — 7

Great charge to create the quick play the ball that Walsh played off the back off for that brilliant first half try. Clocked up 12 runs for 101 metres and 18 tackles.

16. XAVIER WILLISON — 7

Made a huge impact off the bench with 17 runs for 128 metres.

17. TYSON SMOOTHY — 5

Did what he had to do late in the game after the Broncos were left without Reynolds and Hunt.
