Fenerbahce Beko officially sidelined Arturs Zagars on Monday.
Due to a groin injury in Round 1 of the Turkiye Sigorta Basketbol Super Ligi Regular Season, the 25-year-old Latvian point guard is out indefinitely. Medical tests at Istanbul’s Medicana Ataşehir Hastanesi revealed a stage 2 muscle injury.
The team coached by Sarunas Jasikevicius started the 2025-26 journey by defeating Besiktas Gain in a clash for the Presidential Cup on Wednesday and fell to Tofas in the opening round of the Turkish League. Switching to the opening double-game week of the EuroLeague Regular Season, the schedule features a home game against Paris in Ulker Sports Arena on Wednesday and a road game against Zalgiris in Zalgirio Arena on Friday.

Representing his country in FIBA Tournaments, the Riga native was named in the All-Star Second Team of the FIBA World Cup 2023. He also suited up for the senior national team of Latvia in last summer’s EuroBasket 2025.
