A V/line bus carrying a number of passengers has plunged 2.5 metres down an embankment in Victoria’s south east, prompting a high-angle rescue.

Emergency services were called to the scene on Fish Creek-Foster Road in Foster, 170 kilometres south-east of Melbourne, just before noon.

A Country Fire Authority spokesperson said three CFA units were on scene alongside Fire Rescue Victoria.

“Upon arrival, crews found a bus sitting on angle, approximately 2.5 metres down an embankment,” the spokesperson said.

“Crews are currently stabilising the bus using a rope system.

“All passengers on the bus are comfortable.”
