The New York Yankees are down 2-0 to the Toronto Blue Jays in the American League Division Series after back-to-back embarrassing losses to their rival.

The Yankees’ offense has not come through in big moments, and the Blue Jays’ pitching has dominated the Yankees for most of the series. The team has been outscored 23-8 in two games. The Yankees have not won a World Series in the Aaron Judge Era, and MLB insider Ken Rosenthal is questioning whether they ever will.

“Aaron Judge turns 34 next April,” Rosenthal said during FOX Sports’ broadcast of Game 2, as seen in a video posted on X. “How many chances are the Yankees going to get with him at his peak? He’s not going to continue like this forever, and here they are again in serious trouble in the postseason.”

Judge has played in 63 postseason games for the Yankees. The Yankees are 31-32 in those games and Judge is slashing .223/.333/.454. His overall numbers are not in line with his elite regular-season numbers, but it takes more than just him to win it all.

The rest of the Yankees team needs to step up as well. Last year was the first time the Yankees played in a World Series since Judge made his debut. His numbers at the plate this season are good, but it has not resulted in much. The Yankees beat the Boston Red Sox in three games in the first round, but now once again face elimination against the American League’s top seed.

The Blue Jays are playing this series without one of their best players, Bo Bichette, but it has not seemed to slow them down. Meanwhile, the Yankees’ offense that features Judge, Giancarlo Stanton and Cody Bellinger has not been able to keep up. Questions about how long Judge will be in his prime are valid, and every season the Yankees fall short, the chances of him winning a World Series decrease.
