Golf star Brooks Koepka and his wife Jena Sims suffered a heartbreaking miscarriage earlier this year, leaving them “devastated.”
The pair, who made their relationship public in 2017 and have been married for three years, are parents to their two-year-old son named Crew. In an emotional Instagram post, the actress and model disclosed that she had been expecting but tragically lost the baby at 16 weeks.
Sims, 36, expressed her desire to help other women facing fertility challenges by opening up about her painful journey. The post featured a series of photos and videos, including a sonogram, as she shared the couple’s hope to expand their family in the future.
“At 16 weeks, we learned that our baby’s heart had stopped beating. This is a grief no parent is ever prepared for. We are devastated, but remain hopeful to give Crew a sibling one day,” Sims wrote.
“Too often, these struggles happen in silence. There is still so much work and research needed to better understand and support women’s reproductive health.
“If you’re experiencing or have experienced pregnancy loss or infertility, please know you are not alone.
“Lastly, I want to recognize the doctors and nurses who must deliver this kind of heartbreaking news every day. It has to be the hardest part of their job, and I’m holding space in my heart for you, too.”
In a subsequent post, Sims emphasized: “There is no timeline or rulebook for healing. If I can make one woman feel less lonely by sharing, then I’ve done my job.”
The announcement followed the family’s week-long getaway in Scotland. Koepka has embarked on a European tour following the conclusion of the LIV Golf season, competing on the DP World Tour at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.

The pro-am tournament is famous for its family atmosphere, with heartwarming photos showing the five-time major winner and his son strolling the fairways and practicing putts at Carnoustie.
Koepka posted several of these images on social media, writing: “A week I’ll cherish forever with my Crew.”
Sims praised her husband as an “incredible father” after the pair faced challenges when Crew arrived seven weeks early in 2023, resulting in a 20-day stay in a neonatal intensive care unit followed by over a year of treatment wearing a helmet to address congenital torticollis.
“I think my life has changed a lot the last four years,” Koepka previously reflected on fatherhood. “Obviously having a son changes my perspective on life, not just golf. Maybe golf was kind of everything for me, but having Crew definitely changes my perspective.”
