The VFL can confirm after an extensive review of the club’s overall performance, including off-field viability, the Northern Bullants Football Club’s licence will not be renewed for the 2026 season.
Upon completion of the review, which is conducted annually, it was determined the club did not meet the criteria to retain its VFL licence.
On-field competitiveness and off-field financial liability over a number of years were factors in the decision. The club was provided with emergency funding in 2023.
The VFL acknowledges the outcome for those involved with the Northern Bullants and has committed to working with the club to endeavour to meet outstanding commitments to players and coaches.
