The England youth international spent three years on the books at Burnley before moves to Fleetwood Town, Blackpool, Motherwell and Crewe Alexandra, where he’s spent the past four years, making nearly 100 appearances for the League Two club.
“I’m excited for the move Down Under and the challenge of playing in the A-League with Brisbane Roar,” Long said.
“I know I’m joining a club that has big ambitions for the upcoming season. I can’t wait to get going, meet my teammates and most importantly, pull on that jersey and give my all for the fans.”
Long joins Milorad Stajic, James McGarry, Hosine Bility, Michael Ruhs and Dean Bouzanis in signing a permanent deal at Brisbane this off-season, as the club’s new head coach Valkanis continues to shape his squad for the Isuzu UTE A-League 2025-26 campaign.
“It is fantastic to have secured Chris’ services and have him in Brisbane Roar colours this season,” Valkanis said.
“Chris is a highly experienced footballer who boasts a keen eye for goal, creativity in the box and a strong turn of pace that will make him an extremely strong addition to the squad.”
