Kelly Ripa wasn’t expecting to experience a wardrobe malfunction on the set of Live! With Kelly and Mark, but she handled it with her usual humor, leaving her co-host husband Mark Consuelos laughing.
Ripa and Consuelos were discussing the Disney Service Awards on the series’s September 30, 2025, episode. The event celebrated three of Live’s producers, among others, who celebrated milestones at the organization.
During their discussion, Ripa realized something felt off. Her microphone had fallen inside her dress, according to Decider.
“Your mic fell,” Consuelos told his wife. She responded, “Oh, my mic fell?”

This led the longtime talk show host to look down into her dress to try and locate the missing device. Consuelos offered a helping hand as he moved his hand across Ripa’s midsection.
“Wait, hang on a second. Let me just reach down deep into the cleavage. Here it is,” she quipped, reattaching the mic and continuing the show.
Kelly Ripa has had many hilarious wardrobe malfunctions on ‘Live’
Kelly Ripa has experienced many mishaps while filming Live! for over 25 years. Many have had to do with her wardrobe.
In 2021, sheand DWTS judge Carrie Ann Inaba were in Hawaii, sampling food during a live cooking segment. While they were tasting a chef’s culinary creations, a gust of wind blew Ripa’s skirt upward, exposing her underwear.
A live 2023 ballroom segment with Dancing With the Stars married pros Jenna Johnson and Val Chmerkovskiy led to another one of Ripa’s wardrobe mishaps. She was dancing with her husband when he dipped her over his leg.
“Did the entire back of my dress rip open?” she asked. “It’s just a breakaway dress,” Ripa quipped.
The daytime star has also had many mic mishaps. One of her most hilarious moments was in July 2024 when the electronic device again slipped down her dress, reported Page Six.
“Oh! Look at this, look at what I found. My microphone’s down here by bosom,” she joked. She reached down into her dress to pull it out, speaking about just how low the mic landed, declaring to Consuelos, “That’s where my bosom is, sir!”

Kelly Ripa has been a mainstay of daytime television for decades, hosting Live! for over a quarter century. She joined the show in 2001, taking over after Kathie Lee Gifford’s exit, and quickly became a fan favorite thanks to her humor, energy, and ability to connect with viewers.
Her first cohost was Regis Philbin, who partnered with her from 2001 until his retirement in 2011. After Regis stepped down, Ripa was joined by a rotating roster of guest cohosts while the show searched for a permanent replacement.
In 2012, Michael Strahan came aboard, cohosting until 2016, followed by Ryan Seacrest from 2017 to 2023. Ripa now co-hosts with her husband Mark Consuelos.
Through every change, Kelly Ripa has remained the heart and soul of Live!, proving her staying power and charisma on television and becoming one of the most enduring daytime hosts in television history.
