For the second straight season, the Sharks fought their way to the preliminary finals but fell agonisingly short of the decider.

Craig Fitzgibbon’s men nonetheless enjoyed a landmark year that kicked off with a historic match in Las Vegas and concluded just shy of the ultimate prize.

2025 NRL Season: By the Numbers

1 – try scored by Toby Rudolf, an unforgettable four-pointer that sealed a sudden-death finals victory over the Roosters and sent Sharks Stadium into raptures.

2 – games played by Chris Vea’ila, the team’s only NRL debutant in 2025. The young centre scored a try in his first match against the Roosters in Round 20.

3 – field goals kicked by Braydon Trindall, more than anyone else in the league.

17 – tries scored by winger Ronaldo Mulitalo (most in the team). KL Iro (12) scored the second-most tries for Cronulla despite being restricted to 14 matches.

23 – line breaks by Ronaldo Mulitalo (equal fourth in the competition and most in the team).

31 – line-break assists by halfback Nicho Hynes (second only to Bronco Reece Walsh’s 34) and offloads by prop Oregon Kaufusi (equal 19th in the competition).
