The South East Melbourne Phoenix are reportedly in advanced talks with five-season NBA player Wes Iwundu, according to ESPN’s Olgun Uluc.

The Phoenix brought in Belgian forward Vrenz Bleijenbergh at the start of the season before parting ways, and now eye 2017 NBA draftee Iwundu.

Wes Iwundu – a 6’6 American wing – is in advanced talks with the South East Melbourne Phoenix, sources told ESPN. Iwundu, 30, played five seasons in the NBA, primarily with the Orlando Magic (2017-2020).

The 6’6″ wing has appeared on the Orlando Magic’s squad and G League affiliate, Lakeland Magic, as well as other NBA clubs – the Dallas Mavericks, New Orleans Pelicans, Atlanta Hawks, Cleveland charge and Stockton Kings.

He most recently appeared in the Greek Basket League for Promitheas Patras.
