[Thursday’s NLDS schedule | Live blog]

One of the Championship Series contenders is set, after the Toronto Blue Jays beat the New York Yankees 3-1 in the ALDS. But we’ve still got three more high-stakes games left to go, with two of those win-or-go-home games taking place on Thursday.

The Philadelphia Phillies and Chicago Cubs saved their playoff hopes with wins on Wednesday. After dropping their two home games to the Los Angeles Dodgers, the Phillies bested the Dodgers in L.A. with an 8-2 win behind hot fourth and eighth innings and two Kyle Schwarber homers.

The Cubs’ 4-3 win over the Milwaukee Brewers was a little more narrow, after Chicago got all four runs in the first inning and held on tightly for the win. It’s been a bit of a tough series for the Cubs, who lost Games 1 and 2 in Milwaukee by wider margins, but Chicago will try to tap into Wednesday’s fight for Thursday’s elimination game.
