Exciting youngster Toby McMullin has signed a new deal with the club.

The GIANTS are thrilled to announce that dynamic young midfielder-forward Toby McMullin has signed a new two-year contract extension, keeping him at the club until at least the end of the 2028 AFL season.

Already contracted for 2026, the extension rewards the 21-year-old for his versatility and continued growth since arriving at the club via pick 34 in the 2022 National Draft.

An explosive 183cm athlete, McMullin shone at the 2022 Draft Combine where he clocked the second-fastest 20m sprint time (2.88 seconds) and finished inside the top 10 for both the agility test and running vertical jump. That same athleticism and intensity have translated to his AFL game, where his power, agility, and silky skills on either side of his body have made him an exciting young prospect for the GIANTS.

Playing three games in his first season after debuting against Port Adelaide in round 22, 2023, McMullin added 14 more AFL appearances to his name in his second season as he continued to show his talent both across half forward and pinch-hitting through the midfield.

Affectionately known around the club as “Muff,” the talented 21-year-old has continued to develop strongly over each of his first three seasons and in 2025 he added another 11 games to his tally to become a reliable piece in Adam Kingsley’s side and a key component of the club’s exciting young core.

Combing his power with an innate ability to get himself out of trouble with ball in hand, McMullin’s athletic attributes and his sharp skills make him an exciting prospect for the future as he continues to strive for more opportunities in the GIANTS midfield in 2026 and beyond.

McMullin comes from a proud football family, with his father Ian McMullin having played for both Essendon and Collingwood in the late 1980s and early 90s before serving on Collingwood’s board for two decades.

GIANTS Executive General Manager of Football, Jason McCartney, said McMullin’s new deal is a reflection of both his growth and potential.

“Toby’s development over the past three years has been really encouraging,” McCartney said.

“He’s an exciting young player who brings great energy and effort to everything he does. His speed, power and strong decision-making skills make him a valuable part of our side, and we’ve seen him continue to add layers to his game with every season.

“We’re delighted to have Toby commit through to 2028 and we’re looking forward to watching him continue to evolve as part of this emerging group.”

McMullin’s extension adds to a growing list of GIANTS to recommit in 2025, joining the likes of Finn Callaghan, Connor Idun, Aaron Cadman, Xavier O’Halloran, Darcy Jones, Jack Buckley, and Ryan Angwin in extending their time with the club.
