An elderly man has died after he was hit by a reversing truck at a rubbish tip in Canberra.
The force of the crash pushed him into the rubbish collection area Mugga Lane Resource Management Centre in Symonston about 2.45pm on October 1.
The 78-year-old man from Pearce, in Canberra’s south, suffered critical injuries.
Paramedics treated him at the tip before taking him to hospital, where he died on Saturday.

Because the accident happened in a “road-related area”, the death is being considered a road fatality, and is being investigated by ACT Road Policing’s Major Collision Team, ACT Policing said.
A report will be prepared for the coroner.
