Peter Rose has edited Australian Book Review, the country’s foremost magazine on books for 24 years. His last, telling innovation, was to establish a scientific fellowship for the magazine which the new editor, Georgina Arnott, once an ABC TOP 5 Humanities intern, will direct. The first fellow, just announced, will be Dr Sara Webb, an astronomer, from Swinburne University in Melbourne. Peter explains how scientific ideas are vital for ABR, at a time when Australia’s last printed science magazines, COSMOS and The Skeptic are withdrawing from print, to be online only.
