A mega rematch might be coming soon.

Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Lightweight champion Charles Oliveira scored yet another highlight-reel finish in the main event of UFC Rio last night (Sat., Oct. 11, 2025) when he tapped Mateusz Gamrot in the second round with a rear-naked choke inside Farmasi Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

It didn’t take long for the former Featherweight king to respond — and he sounds more than interested to scrap.

“I’m interested,” Holloway said on a Kick live stream. “Why wouldn’t I be? We heard the callout. I’m here. Only time will tell now … A fight at the White House? That’s such a long wait. I don’t know if I want to wait that long, but we’ll see what happens. Never say never.”

“We’ve been talking about this fight. Me and him have a history. He’s blaming it on some type of injury. I guess we get to figure it out now,” Holloway added. “My hand is getting better; we’re just waiting to get cleared.”

The two UFC legends and future Hall of Famers first met back in 2015 at UFC Saskatoon, which marked both men’s first UFC main event. That fight ended abruptly in less than two minutes after Oliveira suffered a freak esophageal injury, leaving fans with one of the most unsatisfying conclusions in UFC history.

Since then, both have taken drastically different career paths. Oliveira moved up to Lightweight a few years later, went on an incredible run, and captured the UFC Lightweight title, while Holloway dominated at Featherweight, winning and defending the 145-pound belt three times.

Now, a decade later, both fighters are back at Lightweight — and both are absolute Bad Motherf—kers.
