Fiona Falkiner, model and former host of The Biggest Loser Australia, has announced she’s separated from her wife, sports presenter Hayley Willis.

Falkiner, 42, shared the news in a statement on her Instagram stories over the weekend.

”Hayley and I have made the extremely tough call to separate,” she wrote.

“Our priority will always be the wellbeing and happiness of our two boys, and we remain committed to co-parenting with love and respect.

“We ask for privacy as we navigate this next chapter.”

The couple shares two sons; Hunter, four, and Spencer, three.

Falkiner gave birth to Hunter in March 2021, while Willis gave birth to Spencer in August 2022.

The couple met on Instagram, when the Nine sports presenter took a chance and messaged Falkiner, asking her out for a drink.

The TV presenter was overseas at the time, and it took months of messaging before they were finally able to grab one.

After their first date in October 2018, the relationship developed quickly, with Willis sharing with nine.com.au, “Lesbians will sometimes say things go from zero to 100 and it’s so true.

“We literally were inseparable for the whole summer, and spent every moment together. I started thinking, ‘You know what? I want this for the rest of my life’.”

Willis quietly began planning a proposal, with Falkiner returning from their holiday in Vanuatu with a ring on her finger just months later.

They married in Byron Bay in October 2022. Just two months earlier, the couple had welcomed their second child, Spencer.

Sixteen months before Spencer’s birth, their oldest son Hunter came into the world.

When asked what they loved the most about each other, Willis and Falkiner both pinpointed kindness as the other’s key quality.

“[Fiona] also has this quality where she can walk into a room and everything for me just stops, and I’m just like, ‘Wow, that’s who I’m marrying’,” Willis added before the wedding.

“Tell you what, it was the best thing I’ve ever done, send [that] message on Instagram. The modern-day love story, I guess.”

So far, no reason has been given for the pair’s sad decision to part ways.
