As part of its ongoing commitment to women’s rugby, Clinique has launched season three of its GameFace campaign, which sees the brand sponsor grassroots women’s rugby teams.
The campaign, which was created with the help of agency Matta, launched in 2022. The groundbreaking work has seen Clinique support female rugby players through sponsorship, which has provided essential funding, education and equipment. As the campaign develops, it also seeks to tackle a growing confidence crisis in young female players, following research that shows 61% avoid sport due to low self-esteem.
GameFace aims to inspire confidence and shape the game of the future. This year, Clinique became the official beauty partner for the Red Roses, supporting them to feel confident in their skin. For elite athletes, skincare is more than cosmetic but can also be part of preparation ahead of the game.
Hours of outdoor training and changing climates on tour can take a toll on players skin, to help players feel prepared, Clinique offered the Red Roses expert dermatological consultations and
bespoke routines powered by dermatologist-developed and allergy-tested formulas. From hydration to protection, the routines were personally designed to keep the players skin match ready. Players including Holly Aitchison, Maddie Feaunati and Jade Shekells fronted the partnership.
“Clinique’s support for women’s rugby, from grassroots clubs to the Red Roses, is more than just a sponsorship – it’s a shared mission. I’m so excited GameFace is back – continuing to give young women in rugby confidence, resources and support to thrive on and off the pitch. I’m proud to be part of a movement that’s changing the game for good,” explains Holly Aitchison, English rugby union player for Sale Sharks.
Alongside working with the players, Clinique also worked with the Red Roses to launch a limited edition Dramatically Different Moisturising Lotion+ featuring the team’s iconic rose.
The campaign is a part of the brand’s long-standing commitment to elevating and supporting women’s rugby. Supporting players at both elite and grassroots level, Clinique is building a movement that champions female athletes and leaves a lasting legacy.
