Australia’s first undisputed world champion of the four-belt era, Cherneka Johnson, will defend her bantamweight crown on the Jake Paul undercard next month.

Johnson (18-2) will square off against Canada’s Amanda Galle in the preliminary card headliner on November 15 (AEDT) in Miami, Florida.

The 30-year-old, who was born in New Zealand, only won the gold in July against Shurretta Metcalf but is wasting little time stepping back into the ring.

“I’m pumped to be back in the ring again before the end of the year! It’s been a while since I’ve been this active, and I’m loving it,” Johnson said.

“I can’t wait to be part of the massive Jake Paul vs Tank Davis card, show the improvements we’ve been working on, and bring my belts back home.

“Amanda Galle came up after my fight vs. Shurretta Metcalf in NYC, showed respect, and said she wants what I’ve got. I can’t blame her, I’d be chasing all the belts too.”

Johnson has struck a deal with Most Valuable Promotions, which is headed up by Paul, and the pair have since formed a close working relationship.

MVP co-founder Nakisa Bidarian said the fight will be “non-stop action”.

“Sugar Neekz Johnson is set to become Australia’s first-ever defending undisputed champion in the four-belt era, while Canada’s top 118lb contender Amanda Galle has the opportunity to make a global name for herself and become the first Canadian-born undisputed champion,” he said in a statement.

“Even with the short notice, this will be a non-stop all action fight with both fighters ready to make a statement and go to war.”

The event will be broadcast globally on Netflix, will be headlined by the ever-polarising Paul taking on Gervonta “Tank” Davis in a cruiserweight clash.

Davis currently holds the WBA lightweight championship, but has moved up seven weight classes to cash in on an opportunity of a lifetime against Paul.
