FORT WORTH, Texas — Rice’s Darya Schwartzman punched her ticket to the NCAA Championships by advancing to the ITA Regional Finals on Monday.
Schwartzman defeated Texas Tech’s Hailey Murphy 6-2, 6-4 in the semifinals, becoming the first women’s player from Rice to reach the finals. She will face No. 1 seed Mia Kupres of Texas A&M on Tuesday at 10 a.m.
Francesca Maguina defeated TCU’s Tomi Main 6-1, 6-1 to reach the consolation finals, where she will face Letizia Corsini at 10 a.m.
