ACWORTH, Ga. – The Belmont men’s golf team is in fifth place after day one of The Scrappy at Cobblestone held Monday at Cobblestone Golf Club in Acworth, Georgia.
Belmont posted rounds of 293 and 295 on Monday to finish the day in fifth place at 588. Host Kennesaw State has the team lead at 572, with Tennessee Tech in second at 582.
Two Bruins are among the top-20 after 36 holes. Senior Conner Brown and junior Chris Harpum are tied for 17th place at 146. They each carded identical rounds of 76 and 70 on day one. They are seven strokes back of the individual leader, Haden Maxwell of Tennessee Tech (139).
Junior Grey Goff and freshman Jack Doyle are each tied for 26th place at 149. Goff shot rounds of 71 and 78, while Doyle posted rounds of 76 and 73.
Sophomore Brennan Cozad is tied for 41st place at 152.
