It’s Tuesday of the final week on The Block 2025, even if Taz‘s ‘Block brain’ has him thinking it’s Monday!
That means one less day than he thought to not only finish the front yard, but also fix 237 defects to complete their house. Yay!
There’s no such Block brain for Sonny and Alicia, whose night away from site has done wonders.
Not only has Sonny washed his hair, but Alicia’s mood has bounced back after her very teary birthday yesterday.
They only have a few days to go, so they’re going to make the most of it.
…And really, really try to win.

Meanwhile in House 5, Robby and Mat are wondering if they’ll even finish at all.
Yesterday, their landscaper Paal told them about an additional $34,000 worth of work in their backyard that they had no idea about.
Considering they laid out a very strict $70k budget, they’re really unsure how they’re going to pay for it.
DAN VS DANI EXCLUSIVE: Shocking fail in $170k backyard stops couple dead in their tracks
Foreman Dan reads through the bill and notices that $11k is because he had to redo work after missing a required inspection.
Dan reckons they could argue it in half, but the boys don’t even have that.
Two different but equally relatable looks of despair. (Nine)
Whatever the solution is, they need to find it ASAP.
”They need a front yard to sell the home. You don’t have a front yard, or if it’s left like this, they’re not going to win The Block. They might not even sell,” Dan warns.
Then comes the awkward sit-down with Paal and his wife and business partner, Carmen.
”At the end of the day, Mat and I, we don’t have the money. Full stop. We’ve got maybe $5k,” Robby says.
Paal doesn’t think it’s fair for him to just take the loss, while Mat says it’s also unfair to have such a large bill sprung on them without warning.
But Paal says they were told about it and he has texts and emails to prove it.
EXCLUSIVE: Single item saves Emma and Ben from disaster after judges spot ‘glaring error’
Paal shows his receipts. (Nine)
Welp. Somewhere along the way, there’s been a very expensive miscommunication.
After talking it through, Paal commits to doing the front yard, knowing that the budget is stuffed.
Robby and Mat will need to save money towards his bill wherever they can, from cancelling plant orders to using themselves as labourers.
As the day draws to a close, Scotty’s on site for a surprise.
This time, it’s for him!
Now that’s a happy host! (Nine)
They welcome him to his own judging, which is more wholesome gratitude than reading him for filth.
As a thank you gift, they’ve got him his own Wood-Mizer and is it just us, or do Scotty’s eyes look a little misty?!
There are only a few milestones left, so you would think the Blockheads would be soaking in what’s left of their experience wherever they can.
Or not.
Wednesday’s pre-start comes and goes without Taz, who accidentally slept in and missed it.
Normally this is a big no-no and comes with serious punishment but today, Dan – or in Taz’s accidental, sleepy words “dad” – is feeling generous.
Thanks, Foredaddy!
Thankfully, he DID wake up in time for his and Britt’s very personable garage door to be installed.
They HATE it. (Nine)
In case you missed it, they’ve got an Indigenous artwork planned for the door but to avoid giving that away they have arranged a prank.
Grafico have created this:
Classy! (Nine)
“It’s believable if you think we’re flogs,” Taz reckons.
So, what does it say that Dan falls for the “monstrosity” immediately?
The foreman’s in stitches as he sees it for the first time and well, words spreads quick!
Dan has lost it. (Nine)
Everyone’s huge fans. (Nine)
The consensus is that it’s terrible, but no one is willing to say that to their faces.
They all agree the judges will hate it, effectively knocking House 3 out of the competition.
Britt and Taz are equally amused and offended that everyone believes it.
This week, Scotty is obviously feeling bad for the boys.
Considering they’re working as their own labourers, he gives them his Hardest Worker award, with a prize of 13 trees and a hug.
Geez, he’s feeling generous today!
In House 2, builder Shan’s grand plan of keeping Han and Can separate has fallen apart.
They’re both outside and, well, arguing.
Han’s crunched the numbers and wants to splurge on a sauna to go next to their backyard pool cabana this week, but Can’s solely focused on the space that is actually being judged: front yard.
Han’s dad Lee steps in as today’s voice of reason and is actually on Can’s side.
“It’s lovely to have Lee here, and he knows Han very well and how crazy she is,” she jokes.
Then it’s time to get a bit cute.
On the couch, Can says despite the ups and many downs of their journey, she wouldn’t change it for the world and she’s very proud of her partner.
Han returns the niceties and gets teary about how bloody fantastic Can is.
“I don’t want a day without you ever again, you’re just the best thing in the world,” she says.
Awwww. (Nine)
After a nightmare start to their week, Mat attempts to get things back on track with some shopping.
He had to pick up some garden edging, which he technically did. However there’s the small problem of them needing 30 metres worth and Mat only getting one single metre:
Things are shaping up for another perfect score for the boys! (Nine)
While he won’t miss errors like that, Mat will miss his fellow Blockheads.
”I’m going to miss seeing them all every day, even the crazy ones,” he says.
Right on cue, he spots Leesh – and reflects on how they especially have built such a wonderful friendship.
Ah, isn’t this final week full of warm fuzzies?!
And chaos, and mess, and tears, of course. There’s more on the way tomorrow night, as inspection dramas and unwanted surprises threaten throw the team’s some curveballs for the final time.
