Golden State defeated the Blazers 129-123 in their preseason opener Wednesday night in San Francisco, but Portland was impressive in defeat. Before coach Chauncey Billups went deep into his bench, the Blazers’ key rotation players built a 97-79 lead, which was fueled by a 39-point first quarter and 73-point first half. … The Blazers followed the solid debut with a 124-123 win over Sacramento at the Moda Center. … The Warriors are coming off a 126-116 loss at the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday. Three Golden State players — Stephen Curry, Jimmy Butler III and Al Horford — did not play. … In the Blazers’ win over the Kings, seven different players reached double-figures in scoring, including Deni Avdija (15 points, six rebounds, two assists), Shaedon Sharpe (17 points, six rebounds), Jrue Holiday (12 points, three rebounds, three assists), Jerami Grant (18 points, four rebounds) and Yang Hansen (16 points, four rebounds, three blocks). … This is the penultimate exhibition game for both teams. … Brandin Podziemski recorded 23 points, eight assists and five rebounds in the Warriors’ loss to the Lakers.
INJURIES
Blazers: Portland has not released an injury report, but Scoot Henderson (left hamstring tear), Robert Williams III (return to competition), Matisse Thybulle (right knee soreness) and Damian Lillard (left Achilles tendon) are not expected to play, and Toumani Camara (right knee soreness) did not practice Monday.
Warriors: De’Anthony Melton (rehab) will not play.
