An elderly woman has died after being hit by a ute at a service station in New South Wales’ south-west.
Emergency services were called to Cowabbie Street in Coolamon, 507km south-west of Sydney, after reports a woman had been hit by a ute.
Paramedics responded and treated an 83-year-old woman, but she unfortunately died at the scene from her injuries.
The driver, an 84-year-old man, was treated for shock and taken to hospital for mandatory testing.
Police have now commenced an investigation into the accident, with assistance from the crash investigation unit.
A report will be prepared for the coroner.
