Garmin has kicked off the next round of beta development for last-generation high-end smartwatches like the Enduro 2, Epix 2 and the Fenix 7 (curr. $519 on Amazon). For context, over a month has now passed since Garmin issued an update to these smartwatches in any form. As we discussed at the time, System Software 22.06 represented a rather short-lived beta testing phase where Garmin only offered two builds to testers.

Now, the company has moved on to v23.xx builds starting with Beta Version 23.05. While Garmin only introduced 15 changes during its v22.xx testing, Beta Version 23.05 brings a dozen improvements to the Enduro 2, Epix 2, Fenix 7 and other associated smartwatches itself. Of those, 9 are bug fixes, including one that is said to resolve a crash that could occur on the Climb Pro data page.

Meanwhile, Beta Version 23.05 also updates Garmin’s Recent Stress Widget to match the Fenix 8’s and Breath Variation page with a line graph. On top of that, Garmin’s first v23.xx update adds a new Pool Swim activity tip that will appear during a rest set. The full changelog between System Software 22.06 and Beta Version 23.05 is as follows:
