There are just four seats remaining on the 2026 F1 grid after Mercedes finally officially confirmed the extensions of George Russell and Kimi Antonelli.
Although boss Toto Wolff had indicated a decision was close in previous months, it had taken until now for the Briton and Italian to be confirmed as the team’s 2026 line-up, on what have been described as multi-year contracts.
It leaves three of the four Red Bull-backed seats, Max Verstappen aside, to be filled with Yuki Tsunoda, Isack Hadjar, and Liam Lawson, all hoping to stay in F1 for next season.
The identity of the second Alpine driver is also yet to be announced, although Franco Colapinto does look set to stay on as Pierre Gasly’s team-mate.
Elsewhere, the grid will expand to 22 cars for the first time since 2016, with the arrival of Cadillac and its uber-experienced line-up of Valterri Bottas and Sergio Perez.
Take a look below at those confirmed for the 2026 F1 campaign.
