Undrafted forward Julian Reese signed with the club on Friday morning and was later waived, the Raptors announced.
Reese was reportedly signed to an Exhibit 10 deal, per Sportsnet’s Michael Grange, and is now likely headed to Toronto’s G League affiliate, the Raptors 905.
Should he spend 60 days with the 905, Reese could earn up to $85,300.
Reese, 22, spent four years at the University of Maryland, averaging 11.1 points, 7.6 rebounds and 26.4 minutes across 134 games. He is the younger brother of Chicago Sky superstar Angel Reese.
The six-foot-nine, 210-pound Baltimore native ranks second on the Terrapins’ all-time rebounds list and was an all-conference honourable mention last season.
Toronto’s move comes one day after it cut five players, including former second-round pick Ulrich Chomche and Canadian A.J. Lawson. The Raptors roster now sits at 14 players, including guards Alijah Martin and Chucky Hepburn, who are on two-way deals. Leaving Toronto with one roster spot and one two-way slot remaining.
The Raptors open the 2025-26 season on Wednesday with a visit to the Atlanta Hawks. Live coverage on Sportsnet and Sportsnet+ will begin at 7:30 p.m. ET / 4:30 p.m. PT.
