A gradual traffic suspension and a parking ban will take effect on Sunday, October 19, due to the 29th Athens Cycling Tour.  Traffic restrictions will apply to several major avenues, squares, and streets in the Municipality of Athens as follows:

Traffic restriction schedule – from 06:00 to 13:00

Stadiou Street (from Amerikis St. to Vasil. Georgiou Ave.) and all its side streets up to the first parallel.Syntagma Square.Filellinon Street, Vasil. Georgiou A’ Ave., and their perpendicular streets up to the first parallel.

From 08:00 to 13:00

Vasilissis Amalias Ave. (both directions) and its side streets up to the first parallel.Filellinon Street (entire length).Syngrou Ave. (from Ath. Diakou St. to Dion. Areopagitou St. and from Dion. Areopagitou St. to Vourvachi St.) and side streets up to the first parallel.

Vehicles crossing perpendicular to the cycling route will be prohibited for the duration of the event, except at the controlled intersections:

Vasilissis Sofias Ave. – Rigillis St.Vasilissis Sofias Ave. – Irodou Attikou St.

The Greek Traffic Police urges drivers to avoid passing through the affected roads, squares, and avenues during the specified hours of the Athens Cycling Tour and to follow the instructions of traffic controllers to minimize congestion.

The event, organized by the Athens municipality youth and athletics organization, invites cycling enthusiasts to enjoy a unique ride in the city, choosing between the Classic route (7 km) and the Endurance route (16 km). The event aims to promote sports, health, and urban mobility in the heart of Athens.
