Anadolu Efes suffered a major setback during their Round 5 EuroLeague clash with Panathinaikos, as both Ercan Osmani and Georgios Papagiannis were forced to leave the court in the first half and did not return.

The morning after the game, Anadolu Efes confirmed the injuries, revealing that the Greek center will face a long-term absence.

Papagiannis suffered a serious setback and is set to undergo surgery for a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee. He is expected to be sidelined for around eight months, delivering a significant blow to Efes’ roster depth.

The Greek center was injured while attempting to catch an alley-oop pass, falling to the ground, receiving medical attention, and leaving the court on a stretcher in tears.

Forward Osmani sustained a left shoulder injury following a collision with Cedi Osman and is expected to miss approximately three weeks while receiving treatment.
