It feels like whenever Charles Leclerc is on a podium, be it in qualifying or the race, it’s always a surprise.
Same again today. And he has hopes for tomorrow too, albeit probably just to keep his P3 spot rather than taking on the two cars ahead of him:
💬 “It was quite a big surprise (to come third) … the weekend has been very difficult for us since the beginning.
“There are still things we need to understand with this car because there is a bit too much of a swing of performance in the weekend without fundamentally changing the car.
“But it’s been an interesting sprint race this morning. I think we learnt a lot, applied that in qualifying and it seems to be working, so I hope that from now on we catch back a little bit.
“Our car is normally stronger in the race than in qualifying, so that’s a positive.”
