Drew Dober was booed mercifully by the Canadian crowd after getting back in the win column, and it was due to what happened prior to the finish of the fight.

In the featured preliminary bout at UFC Vancouver, Dober picked up a third-round TKO victory over Canada’s own Kyle Prepolec. With the fight likely 19-19 heading into the final stanza, Dober was looking to get some momentum in the third, but landed a nasty kick below the belt that stopped the action. After a long break for Prepolec to recover, referee John Cooper took a point from Dober, much to the surprise of the MMA community.

After the deduction, and knowing he needed a finish to win, Dober turned ferocious, landing big shots to the overwhelmed Prepolec to score the stoppage. The victory halted Dober’s three-fight losing streak.

Prepolec falls to 0-4 in his UFC career.
