Chedworth author GD Howard has returned with a sequel starring brave heroine Holly again.

Mr Howard launched his new book, The Green Wolf Rider Rides Again, in Octavia’s bookshop, Cirencester, on Saturday, October 4.

The book is a sequel to his 2023 release, The Legend of the Green Wolf Rider.

More than 30 people attended the launch event to meet the author and pick up a signed copy of the latest instalment.

Mr Howard said: “My second book signing was both a delight and a success.

“The people that came into Octavia’s bookshop were lovely and we had quite a crowd, all keen to find out where Holly’s adventures will take her next.”

The series is enjoyed by all ages, but Holly’s magical adventures are particularly suitable for children aged 8 to 13.

Mr Howard said: “The young readers who attended the launch were delighted to pick up their copy of the new book about nature, magic and adventure, where the heroine, Holly, is aided by the forest creatures – especially the wolves.

“This is a story about facing difficult tests but meeting them with courage and determination, helped by some extraordinary companions – bears, bats and a huge grey wolf,” he said.

GD Howard draws inspiration from old woodlands and archaeological sites around Gloucestershire.

“Inspiration comes from the woods around my home.

“These are places of beauty that are home to some fabulous creatures – both big and small. Creatures that need our help and sometimes I can offer that help.

“Small things like moving a woodlouse from inside the cottage to outside or rescuing a robin which has become trapped under a tub.

Mr Howard said: “Every time I help nature in any way I feel happy about it.

“So that’s why I want to try and create that same feeling in my readers if they have a go at starting their own adventure with nature.

“They probably won’t find themselves running with a wolf pack as Holly does, but they will feel something very positive.”

The Green Wolf Rider Rides Again is available in bookshops and via online retailers now.
