A 30-year-old man has been accused of possessing a commercial quantity of cocaine and ice worth a combined estimated street value of more than $6.3 million.

The man was arrested on the Sturt Highway at Hay in the NSW Riverina region after police stopped his car as a part of routine patrols at 2pm on Friday.

Police asked the man to take a roadside breath test, which returned a negative result.

Officers then asked the man to complete a roadside drug test, which allegedly returned a positive result.

Police searched the vehicle where they allegedly found more than five kilos of methlyamphetamine, almost 11kg cocaine, more than $130,000 cash and two mobile phones.

The driver was arrested and taken to Hay Police Station where he was charged with seven offences.

This includes two counts of supplying a prohibited drug equal to or more than large commercial quantity, recklessly deal with proceeds of general crime with value of $100,000 or more, three counts of goods in personal custody suspected being stolen (not motor vehicle) and possessing a prohibited drug.

The man will appear before Griffith Local Court on Wednesday, October 29.
