Matchroom Sport Chairman and renowned boxing promoter Eddie Hearn has stated that the boxing promotional outfit will hold a show in Accra, Ghana at the end of this year.
The boxing event which is set to act as a potential precursor to an Anthony Joshua fight in the same city in February next year, is scheduled to take place in December 20, 2025.
According to the Ring Magazine, Matchroom Boxing CEO Frank Smith was in Ghana in August to engage stakeholders regarding the upcoming event and was impressed with what he saw and this has obviously played a role in Hearn confirming the boxing event in December in Accra.
āWeāre doing a show in Ghana on December 20th. Obviously this will not be an AJ [Anthony Joshua] show but itās still going to be a good show.ā

āThe idea is that this is probably a precursor for an AJ show out there but itās not part of our initial deal. We can just get the lay of the land with this oneā Hearn said to Ring Magazine.
