Justin Hartley leads CBS’s Tracker as a survivalist using his knowledge of the land to hunt down baddies.Season 3 will be its first without main cast members Abby McEnany and Eric Graise. It will, however, see the return of supporting players like Jensen Ackles.

Justin Hartley is back for Tracker season 3 as Colter Shaw, the survivalist who struggles with his dark family history when he’s not tracking down bad guys.

Lest we forget, season 2 ended with Colter learning that his father’s mysterious death came not at the hand of his brother Russell (Jensen Ackles), as he’d long been led to believe. Instead, it turns out his mother, Mary (Wendy Crewson), had a hand in it. How much of a hand? Well, that’s something for new episodes to explore.

“Following last season’s explosive finale, Colter is wrestling with hard truths about his family’s history,” reads a season 3 synopsis. “In the wake of these shocking revelations, and aided by his trusted team, Colter must put the past in the rearview to focus on what he does best: using his instincts and survival skills to find the missing and collect rewards.”

He’ll need to do so, however, without the help of his old team. Earlier this year, it was revealed that cast members Abby McEnany and Eric Graise would not return for season 3 as handler Velma and tech wizard Bobby, respectively. Following the departure of Robin Weigert’s Teddi following season 1, that leaves only Hartley and Fiona Rene, who plays attorney Reenie Greene, from Colter’s original stable.

Don’t worry too much about our hero, though. He’ll have plenty of help along the way. Below are the familiar faces in the cast of Tracker season 3.

Justin Hartley is best known as Kevin Pearson on This Is Us (2016–2022). You may also remember him from numerous soap operas (Passions, The Young and the Restless) and Smallville (2006–2011), on which he played Oliver Queen, a.k.a. Green Arrow.

Hartley leads Tracker as Colter Shaw, a survivalist with a dark past. Speaking with Deadline, Hartley said season 3 will chronicle Colter’s “journey to find an inner peace with his family.”

He continued, “It’s been years, and he’s been misled and misdirected in terms of who’s responsible for his father’s death and how crazy his father really was. What he was into, if there’s a government conspiracy and all that kind of stuff. Now, he finds out that his mother knows more than she let on, which is not a huge shocker, I guess, that his mother lied to him, but that’s a pretty crazy story.”

Jensen Ackles as Russell Shaw

For 15 seasons, Jensen Ackles starred as Dean Winchester on Supernatural (2005–2020). He’s remained prolific in the years since, memorably appearing on Amazon Prime’s superhero satire The Boys as Soldier Boy (2022–present), a role he’ll also play on the upcoming prequel Vought Rising.

Ackles has been a routine presence on Tracker as Russell Shaw, Colter’s brother and the man he long suspected of killing their father. Season 3 begins with a long-awaited heart-to-heart between the siblings.

“Russell being older, he has a different, probably darker memory of it that was shielded from Colter, if you remember, because Russell disappeared and Colter stayed back with his mother,” showrunner Elwood Reid explained to TV Insider ahead of season 3.

Russell’s presence in season 3 “opens up a deeper mystery,” per Reid.

Fiona Rene as Reenie Greene

Prior to joining Tracker, Fiona Rene starred on Amazon Prime’s I Know What You Did Last Summer (2021), Netflix’s The Lincoln Lawyer (2022–2024), and CBS’s Fire Country (2022–2023).

Since its debut, Rene has starred on Tracker as Reenie Greene, an attorney whose legal know-how comes in handy as Colter busts bad guys.

“She went through a lot there at the end of season 2 with her boyfriend and the kidnapping and all that stuff, so she’s got to deal with all that trauma,” Hartley told Deadline about Reenie’s journey in season 3. “I think we’ll find that Colter starts sensing there might be something up with her, a little bit, in terms of how she’s coping with all of that stuff that happened to her.”

Hartley continues, “He’s not going to let her suffer alone. He’ll be there for her in whatever way he can. So that’ll be an interesting dynamic that we haven’t seen before.”

Chris Lee as Randy

After a series of supporting roles, Chris Lee broke out as Kaleb on the Vampire Diaries spinoff Legacies (2018–2022) and Hannibal on Showtime’s The Chi (2018–2025).

He joined Tracker in season 2 as Randy, the cousin of Graise’s Bobby. Now, with Bobby having moved on, Randy will serve as Colter’s go-to tech expert.

“Randy came in and also gave something to the show that was different. There was a real warmth and fun when he came in,” Reid told Us Weekly earlier this year. “It was something that I think we were missing a little bit too in some episodes… With those dynamics — and in playing with this team’s dynamics — that’s all stuff we’re going to continue to play with in season 3 as the show evolves.”

Wendy Crewson as Mary Dove Shaw

Wendy Crewson‘s been acting onscreen for nearly half a century, having helped lead the Santa Clause trilogy (1994–2006), Air Force One (1997), and The Kid Detective (2020), among many other films. Most recently, she appeared on Amazon Prime’s adaptation of We Were Liars (2025).

Since season 1, Crewson has proven an enigmatic presence as Mary Dove, Colter and Russell’s mother. At the end of season 2, viewers learned that for years she’d been misleading Colter about the circumstances surrounding his father’s death.

“He knows that his mom has been lying to him, but the question is why and not just stone-cold murder,” Reid told TV Insider. “Where I think it ends up, as you’ll see, is that they become closer, but then another central mystery arises. Not just the bombshell we got, but the why of it all, and that’s something that we’re going to carry through the season a little bit.”

Sofia Pernas as Billie

Sofia Pernas previously appeared on series like The Brave (2017–2018) and Blood & Treasure (2019–2022), as well as Sonic the Hedgehog 3 (2024).

After her guest spots in seasons 1 and 2, Pernas, Hartley’s real-life wife, will return in season 3 as Billie Matalon, a fellow tracker who occasionally assists Colter with his jobs.

“Yeah, she’ll be back,” Hartley told Deadline. “She comes back in a big way. She’s got a really cool thing that she’s helping Colter with.”

Jennifer Morrison as Lizzy

A network TV mainstay, Jennifer Morrison is famous for her runs on House (2004–2012) and Once Upon a Time (2011–2018). She also appeared with Hartley on several seasons of This Is Us (2019–2022) as Cassidy Sharp, an ex-soldier his character meets in rehab.

Morrison’s Lizzy, who appeared in the first two seasons, is an old friend of Colter’s. As Reid told Us Weekly following season 2, she’ll become intertwined with Colter’s search for answers about his father’s death.

“That story will be far more complicated than you’re led to believe at the end of the season,” he said. “His brother Russell has some of the answers to that question. His sister Dory might have some pieces of that. His childhood friend Lizzy might have some pieces of that, too.”
