Women’s Golf Wins Third Tournament of the Fall at the Red Flash Invitational

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. – The Bucknell women’s golf team won its third tournament of the fall, led by Paige Richter’s and Joelle Johnson’s six-over par finish in third place at the Red Flash Invitational on Tuesday at the Sunnehanna Country Club. This marks the first time in team history that the Bison have won three tournaments in a single season, both fall and spring.

Bucknell beat the field by nine strokes, carding a 599 (+23) for the 36-hole tournament. Bucknell knocked five strokes of their 302 in the first round with a 297 on the second day. All five Bison finished in the top-15 of the individual field of 56 players.

Richter and Johnson both tied for third place at six-over par. Johnson was three-over in both rounds, carding a pair of 75’s for the tournament. Richter fired a two-over 74 in second round, making two birdies for an even back nine. Johnson carded one birdie on the back, also shooting even.

Nicole Yun finished in sixth-place at seven-over, carding a 74 on the final day. She knocked five strokes off her score from the first round, making birdies on holes five and 15.

Bardunias finished in eighth at nine-over par for the tournament. She shot a 79 after firing a 74 in the first round. Katherine Vice finished 15th at 12-over par. After a tough first round, Vice fired back with a 74 for a solid final round.

Duquesne’s Sasha Petrochko and Towson’s Victoriah Kuranga tied for first place at four-over par for the event.

Bucknell wrapped up a historic fall to begin its 2025-26 season. The Bison won three of its five tournaments in the fall, including wins at the Bucknell Invitational and Battle at the Creek. The Bison also took second at the Navy Fall Invitational.

The Bison set a 36-hole record with a 590 followed by a 54-hole record 885 at the Bucknell Invitational. The Bison had six rounds that are in Bucknell’s all-time top-10 single. Individually, the Bison had 17 top-10 finishes in the fall.

Bucknell is back in action in February, heading to Florida for the El Campeon Collegiate, hosted by Lehigh at the Mission Inn Resort.
