MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) – The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference released its preseason men’s basketball poll Wednesday.
Michigan Tech was picked to win the conference, and Northern Michigan was selected to finish second.

The Huskies are conference favorites largely because they’re bringing back reigning GLIAC Player of the Year Marcus Tomashek. He averaged more than 23 points per game last season and is one of 14 returners for Tech.
Northern added nine new players in the offseason, including a pair of Division I transfers. Big men Dylan Kuehl, Jackson Dudek and Sam Privet are all back for their fifth season, providing some veteran leadership for the Wildcats.
