Dockers defender Karl Worner admits he’s learnt a lesson and won’t be gesturing to the scoreboard any time soon.
Worner was controversially penalised in last week’s thrilling win over Collingwood and marched 50m for briefly pointing to the replay on the scoreboard with the umpire nearby.

The moment sparked plenty of debate, with Fox Footy’s Garry Lyon describing the penalty as a “disgrace”.

But the young Docker has already changed his ways.
“Don’t tell me!” Gaz’s ‘dissent’ blow up | 01:46
The 23-year-old had a moment late in the third term of his side’s 49-point win over West Coast where he was seen signalling that teammate Oscar McDonald had been taken high.
But he reigned the reaction in when McDonald was instead determined to be holding the ball.
“It was a bit of an interesting week (laughs) … you’ve got to learn that if a decision’s made, you’ve got to accept it and move on,” he told foxfooty.com.au
“I was close to looking at the scoreboard (against West Coast) and I just reminded myself don’t do it.
“It’s the competitive nature.
“But it’s something as elite athletes we have to continue to control as well.”
While Worner’s pleas went unheard, Eagle Tim Kelly converted the goal on three quarter time in a moment that proved a turning point for Freo.
What followed was a passionate response from Fremantle’s Andy Brayshaw and Josh Treacy who pulled teammates together before coaching staff could even get down on the ground.
Gaz flames 50m penalty as a ‘disgrace’ | 00:41
“That last (defensive) 50 stoppage … we didn’t get it right,” Worner said of the Kelly moment.
“Andy and JT are great leaders, they wanted to make sure we re-evaluate what we’re valuing.
“At three quarter time, we were able to reassess and go again.”
The act won praise from coach Justin Longmuir.
“See something, say something – don’t wait for the coach. I’m loving those moments that they are identifying and correcting before I have to,” he said.
The Dockers kicked five of the next six goals to blow the margin out in some desperately needed percentage for Justin Longmuir’s side.
But a late flurry from the Eagles ensured the margin finished at 49 points – at a time Freo sits seven percent of their nearest rival (GWS) and eight percent off the Gold Coast Suns who still have a game in hand.
“What’d we kick? 18.18 and four out on the fulls? Yeah, we created plenty of opportunities to kick a good score – and we kicked a good score,” Longmuir said.

“Take away a couple of goals and add a couple more, it doesn’t take much for a bit more percentage boost.
“I said to the players after the game it’s been a bit of a trend for us.
“We held Adelaide to 38 points or something to three quarter time and coughed up three or four goals from our back half just by going to sleep in that game. It was a bit the same in the GWS game.
“You do that across the course of the year, you take one percent here and it adds up. We need to be a bit more ruthless in that sense and maybe that’s the next step.”
The Western Derby win ensures Fremantle sit a win clear of the Suns inside the eight on 52 points – alongside the likes of Hawthorn and GWS.
But Gold Coast still have a game in hand after that Opening Round weather delay.
