ODESSA, Texas (KOSA) – FIRST ALERT 7 Forecast for Friday, October 24th, 2025: Severe weather potential and cooler temperatures are ahead across West Texas and southeast New Mexico as we finish out the workweek.
High temperatures across the region will warm into the 70s, 80s and 90s. Midland/Odessa are looking to reach a high temperature of 77 degrees. Winds will be relatively light through the day, between 5 and 20 miles per hour with strongest winds expected across the Permian Basin. Mostly cloudy to overcast skies are expected through the day. Severe weather will be possible once again across the region today with isolated to scattered strong to severe thunderstorms possible in the afternoon through the late evening hours. Large hail and strong winds will be the main threats with any severe storm that forms, but a tornado or two cannot be ruled out as well, especially for those in the Trans Pecos region. Coming up tonight, we will see activity diminishing as dry air filters into the region behind a cold front. Conditions are once again going to be cool with early morning lows dropping into the 40s and 50s areawide.
Cooler conditions continue into Saturday, however, conditions do look to be quiet for the start of the weekend. A quick warm-up is ahead Sunday and Monday before another cold front pushes through the region Monday into Tuesday dropping temperatures…possibly into the 60s by the middle of the new week.
