Adelaide started strongly, leading 25-16 after the first quarter behind Steph Talbot’s efficient scoring. However, the game dramatically shifted in the second period as Geelong outscored Adelaide 32-13, turning a nine-point deficit into a 10-point halftime lead at 48-38.

Geelong maintained their momentum throughout the third quarter, again outscoring Adelaide 32-22. Jazmin Shelley caught fire from beyond the arc, connecting on six three-pointers for the game, helping the Venom extend their advantage heading into the final period.

The Venom delivered the knockout blow in the fourth quarter, outscoring the Lightning 30-16 to secure the 34-point victory. Mackenzie Holmes was outstanding, shooting an efficient 11-from-14 from two-point range and a perfect 3-from-3 from three-point territory for her game-high 33 points.
