Messi and the Argentina football team last visited India in 2011, when they faced Venezuela in a friendly at the Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata.
Messi, however, is expected to visit India for an individual tour in December, according to separate reports. The promotional event titled ‘G.O.A.T India Tour 2025’ is scheduled to cover Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Mumbai and New Delhi.
Now 38, Lionel Messi is an Olympic gold medallist from Beijing 2008. He also led Argentina to the FIFA World Cup trophy in 2022 and won the Copa America for the second time last year.
