Why the Galaxy Watch 7 is still worth considering
The Galaxy Watch 7 represented a solid step forward for Samsung’s mid-range smartwatch when it launched last year. While the design remained largely unchanged from the Watch 6, Samsung focused on improving the core tracking performance.

As we noted in our Galaxy Watch 7 review, this generation marked a significant step forward for Samsung. The brand introduced dual-frequency GPS, which significantly improved outdoor tracking accuracy compared to previous models. It also upgraded its BioActive sensor, resulting in more reliable heart rate monitoring during workouts and overnight.
The Wear OS experience is slick, offering access to the Google Play Store, Google Maps, and Google Gemini. It also handles notifications well, offers music storage from the likes of Spotify, and includes useful features like body composition analysis and skin temperature tracking for sleep and cycle insights.
Of course, like any device, it’s not without its drawbacks— and these are important to consider even at this discounted price. Battery life remains a key weakness; we found our unit typically lasted around 1 to 1.5 days.
Plus, some of the headline health features, like ECG and blood pressure monitoring, remain exclusive to users with a Samsung smartphone (due to the need for the separate Samsung Health Monitor app).
Despite these caveats, the Galaxy Watch 7 remains a feature-packed and accurate smartwatch for Android users to consider. If you can live with the daily charging routine and are within the Samsung ecosystem (or don’t need the locked features), getting this level of performance and software support for $230 is a fantastic deal.
