The Fire 5 Pro is a new smartphone that’s now available on Amazon. It’s supposed to be durable and is equipped with a very large battery. However, there are also certain limitations.

The Doogee Fire 5 Pro is a new smartphone that is now available for purchase on Amazon. It’s being offered by a marketplace seller, but Amazon takes care of the shipping. The asking price is $219 at the time of writing. Although the Doogee Fire 5 Pro has the “Pro” moniker in its official product name, it does have some major limitations. For instance, the MediaTek Helio G81 is a pretty slow SoC and only supports 4G and not the latest 5G cellular standard.

Limited memory and storage, but three card slots

The RAM has a capacity of 4GB, which is undersized by today’s standards. That said, the 128GB mass storage can be expanded with a microSD card. Another noteworthy feature are the three card slots, which means that users don’t have to choose between dual SIM or storage expansion. The Fire 5 Pro runs on Android 15, but prospective buyer’s shouldn’t expect any major software updates.

Large battery and power bank features

The battery has a very high capacity of 13,000mAh and can be charged at up to 18 watts. The Doogee smartphone further supports reverse charging, so it can basically act as a power bank and charge other devices with up to 5 watts. It features a main camera with a resolution of 13 megapixels, while the front camera offers 8 megapixels. Meanwhile, the 6.6-inch screen has a rather low resolution of 720 x 1612 pixels.

Durable design

Doogee also advertises a rugged design, as the Fire 5 Pro should survive drops from a height of almost 5 ft without major damage. It also meets the IP68 and IP69K requirements.

I have been active as a journalist for over 10 years, most of it in the field of technology. I worked for Tom’s Hardware and ComputerBase, among others, and have been working for Notebookcheck since 2017. My current focus is particularly on mini PCs and single-board computers such as the Raspberry Pi – so in other words, compact systems with a lot of potential. In addition, I have a soft spot for all kinds of wearables, especially smartwatches. My main profession is as a laboratory engineer, which is why neither scientific contexts nor the interpretation of complex measurements are foreign to me.

My fascination for technology goes back a long way to the Pentium II era. Modding, overclocking and treasuring computer hardware has since become an integral part of my life. As a student, I further developed a keen interest in mobile technologies that can make the stressful college life so much easier. After I fell in love with the creation of digital content while working in a marketing position, I now scour the web to bring you the most exciting topics in the world of tech. Outside the office, I’m particularly passionate about motorsports and mountain biking.
